Are you taking care of your feet?

It may not be the first thing you think of each day, but taking care of your feet is important, whether you’re a man, woman, young, old, or a dancer.

Do you actually check your feet on a regular basis? Do you have cuts, bunions or blisters? Maybe an ingrown toenail? And if you have diabetes, checking your feet on a “regular basis” should be defined as every day.

Here are some tips for good foot health:

*Wear shoes that fit (especially if you‘re a woman). Also, as you get older, your shoe size will change, so measure before you buy (especially if you wear pointed toe high heel shoes).

*Keep your feet clean. Dirty feet can lead to additional health problems.

*Use creams or lotions to combat dry scaley skin on your feet.

*See your Doctor if you have a corn or other problems.

*Clip your toe nails to prevent ingrown nails.

*If your feet are swollen (it could be the sign of another health problem) see your Doctor.

And…most importantly..use foot care soap from The Gourmet Soap Chef. We list our soap as “dancer foot soap“, but we know if  it’s good enough for a dancer, it’s certainly good enough for your feet. We custom handcraft 4 types of soap bars to soothe tired feet:
(1) sugar scrub soap bars to remove and exfoliate dead skin.
(2) massage soap bars to relax the muscles in your feet. (with or without loofah scrub)
(3) olive oil bars to moisturize your feet.
(4) peppermint soap bars to keep down odor.
