Next time you buy a bar of soap, note whether the word "soap" is even used on the labeling or packaging. Much to my surprise, many "soaps" on the market aren't really soaps at all. Rather they are detergent bars. Only the substance that has been created through saponification may be called soap. All other substances will be called bars, as in cleaning bar, family bar, or moisturizing bar. (hmmmmm...something to think about).
